Tom Brokaw really is up there under his video image. :)
First the shaft of bright light....

We attended the Boeing 787 roll-out ceremony on 07/08/07. It was quite an event! We arrived shortly after 2 pm and waited in a Disneyland-style winding line for about an hour to take the shuttle bus from the parking area to the 787 hangar entrance. At least it was a beautiful day for standing in line! We felt sorry for the people that were arriving as we got on the bus, as the event was so well orchestrated. Everything was right on time, so they likely were not able to see most of the program. The first photo is the line as we got ready to board the bus, though of course the photo doesn't do it justice. After the one of Tom Brokaw, who did a fine job as emcee, you can see our view as the doors opened - just a shaft of bright light! Then you can see our first view of the plane. Pretty exciting! In the last photo, Troy is standing in front of the ship-side support area where he works.
