If only we had some wisdom!! I've done this kid thing at convention for 15 years now and I still haven't found the secret touch!! Actually, when my kids were little I did a lot of healthy snacks, and juices that they weren't real used to so that it was new and interesting! My kids loved sitting in the grass between benches during meeting picking at the grass...that is, they probably ate 1/2 the grass too!! Good luck, he'll be great!
Can't wait to see him! The nursery will be an important place this year! Nice that it has speakers so you won't miss much if you have to be in there during meeting! Memories are coming back when my girls were babies...sitting in the back row, sleeping in the nursery, etc., etc. Oh, those were the days! :)
Does Braden drink from a bottle? That was a very convenient thing for me! Even though I nursed full-time, Rosanna and Caroline were also taught to drink from a bottle starting between 6-8 weeks old, just in case! And their acceptance of the bottle really came in handy sometimes!
Relax.... believe it or not, you'll look back on this convention year and realize how easy it was compared to some that are coming up... when their walking, running, talking, and want their own way!! :-)
When Michael was a babe, Wayne B. told us that God has a very special part for parents and I've remembered that over the year it helps me get throught convention. He does supply us with enough food to feed our souls. So, do get frustrated when you're in and out all meeting long, or your hands are full when you want to take notes, or you spend half the meeting rocking the stroller outside the tent. God is a parent too and you will come away from convention full.
Our daughter was six months at convention this year in Idaho, we took the bumbo into meeting and I put a blanket over the tray portion and let her have some toys and that seemed to keep her occupied.
I thought of the bumbo thing too or a portable high chair! One convention we set up Andrew's playpen behind us on the last row. That was really nice! I am sure convention is almost over now! We paced a TON in the stroller! He will probably sleep for both of the day meetings if your lucky. Bryce did and it was great! Not much you can do.....Nothing wrong with sitting outside a little if you have to! I am sure you are having a wonderful convention!!!!!
Very funny, Eileen! Yes, 7 1/2 months later, I am updating my blog. Convention went as well as can be expected, I think. We spent a lot of time pushing the stroller around during meetings so Braden could get his naps. We did leave feeling enriched, as always, even if we didn't remember as many details as we might have in years past.

Have fun! They're only babies once!
