Troy got to be off for Memorial Day Weekend! That was a delightful surprise! We had a fun dinner out Friday night. Just as we were getting grumpy about the ongoing rainy, cool weather, we awoke to a beautiful, warm, sunny day on Saturday! The mountains were gorgeous.
We went for a bike ride on the Centennial Trail with Don and Carol. I didn't have my camera with me during the ride, so missed the action shots and only got loading/unloading pics. It felt so good to be out in the beautiful weather!
And, for Lane and Sylvia (and any other curious readers), a little update on the foal. Did we mention the Mama appears to be a Shetland Pony? That's the kind I always thought I wanted while growing up as a little city girl...there'a a little piece of trivia for you. :)
Yes, the foal does appear a bit sleepy in the first photo - we interrupted a lovely afternoon nap. Troy had to roll down the window and say, "Hello little one!"
These were taken after we had a fun potluck at Shane and Deanna's; I didn't get any pics there.
On Monday, Troy rented a tractor for the day. Above is one "before" shot.
Just getting started...
His toy for the day...brought back memories of Northeast Montana! He even got a farmer's tan to show for his efforts.
Picking some rocks, and one of the rock (and other debris) piles...
One of the "after" shots (so many rocks left to pick)...
...and the load headed to the dump. The silt fence left buried by the builder is all gone!
It was great to have a weekend mostly dedicated to making progress at home! We do remember, though, the reason for the holiday, and are thankful for the lives given down through the generations for our freedom.

Wow-looks like you're getting much closer to a yard! (Not that the weed patch wasn't nice!)
Nice job Troy! I think the green would look best right in the middle so we could practice our approaches from all sides. What do you think?

Wow, Lane! Just the landscape design we've been waiting for all this time - thank you! Bring your clubs!
Ahhhh...what gorgeous Memorial Day weather we had. Wonder where it went?? Enjoy watching progress on your yard. You've accomplished so much!
