Jason and Donna came for a visit with their family the day after we got home from Montana. Donna and the kids drove up from Arizona; she brought Anita, a girl that lives near them, with her to help. Then Jason flew up to join them. We had lots of fun! They headed south on Monday to see other family.
Spectators during some ping pong games
Playing "Around the World"
At Kayak Point State Park, on the way to find the first geocache of the trip...
Kayahni had the honor of spotting this one first!
The kids loved watching the sea life and the people crabbing and fishing off the pier.
These were female crabs that had to be returned to the water.
A fabulous shelter someone had built on the beach...notice Tyler holding the crab he found. :)
Anita was brave enough to walk all the way out to the ends of those prongs!
On the ferry as we left Anacortes for San Juan Island on Friday
So much to see...
At Roche Harbor...the kids loved walking along the marina, looking at the boats.
Just relaxin', taking in the view
At English Camp
Part of the beautiful formal garden
At Lime Kiln State Park...we were all disappointed not to see any whales this trip, but it was a gorgeous day on the island and we had a great time.
Dead Man's Bay, just a short hike from Lime Kiln. Tyler with the piece of kelp he acquired. So many possibilities!
Bryce busy at his favorite water's edge pastime: throwing rocks into the water and hearing the splash!
Donna and I soaking up some rays with Kayahni
Busy on her masterpiece!
Andrew hangin' out
Jason and Tyler found another geocache; I went along for the hike and the view.
Taking a picture of his travel bug, to be left behind in the cache
Part of the spectacular view from this spot...notice the dragonflies? They were all over in this area!
Awww, helping a tired little brother
Dinner at Friday's Crab Shack before we boarded the ferry

Entertainment! Who needs quarters, anyway?!
